Due to my passion for diving I have personally experienced the big issue of the plastic pollution of our oceans. It is an awkward feeling to dive into the supposingly clear ocean and be confronted with the waste of plastic trash we leave behind. The sheer amount of plastic hidden in our oceans gets visible for everyone by looking at our beaches worldwide. However, this is challenge we can do something about together. Everyone can help by being more attentive to their surroundings and also remind others to do the same. There is no shame in talking to other people about their left behind rubbish. At the end of each ocean day everybody can actively do something more for the environment and bend down once more.
